 Our Mission
The Friends of 2GHG was organized by former members of the
Second Company Governor's Horse Guard, (2GHG), for charitable
and educational purposes. The Friends are dedicated to promoting
the public’s interest in, and the general welfare of 2GHG.
2GHG
is a specially chartered body of troops of the organized militia
of the State of Connecticut, headquartered in Newtown,
Connecticut.
The Friends are engaged in activities related to educating the
citizens of the State of Connecticut about the historical
significance of the 2GHG, and to receiving contributions to
supplement the budget of the 2GHG. All funds will be used for
the care and well being of the 2GHG horses; the repair and
maintenance of the saddles, tack and uniforms,
and the procurement of supplies.
Both the Friends of 2GHG and the Second Company Governor’s Horse
Guard are 100% volunteer non-profit organizations dedicated
to serving the Governor and the citizenry of Connecticut. Please
